Planting Cactus Indoors

Are you like me who sometimes think that our flowers or plants are self sufficient? Then I have a suggestion for an indoor plant that is interesting looking and almost self sufficient. The plant is the Cactus.

I know everyone associates the Cactus with the desert but it also can be planted in doors. You need to establish good drainage and use a mix made out of equal parts of medium coarse river, not beach, sand, garden loam, and leaf mold or humus.

When you finish planting the Cactus add some gravel on top. It helps water penetration, decreases evaporation, and stops a crust from forming on top.
